Covenant

Having, as we trust, been brought by divine grace to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and to give up ourselves to Him, and having been baptized upon our profession of faith, in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, we do now, relying on His gracious aid, solemnly and joyfully establish our covenant with one another:

We will assemble together as regularly as we are able.

We will work and pray for the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

We will work together to faithfully proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We will observe and celebrate the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

We will rejoice at each others’ happiness and bear each other’s burdens and sorrows.

We will submit joyfully to those who have been placed in authority over us, as we together submit to the Lord.

We will strive to raise our children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, and assist each other in so doing.

We will encourage and exhort one another to greater love towards God and each other, and a greater hatred of sin.

We will uphold the glory of Christ and His Bride by refusing to be unequally yoked and admitting the unconverted into membership.

We will exercise compassionate Church Discipline, always dedicated to the restoration of our sinning brother or sister and to the glory of God.

We will seek, by Divine aid, to live holy lives honoring to God, making no provision for the flesh and bringing every aspect of life under the authority of God’s Word.

We will contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the Gospel through all nations.

We will, if we move from this place, as soon as possible, unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen.
